WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Worked in Reserve Bank of India in a senior supervisory position as Asstt. General Manager in the capacity of Head of the Department (Hindi) at New Delhi. Retired voluntarily in December, 2003 after putting in 37 years of service (i.e. from 3.2.1966 to 31.12.2003). The job responsibilities included mainly translation, publication, training and teaching.
• Also translated Bank’s various publications viz., Annual Report of RBI, Report on Currency and Finance, Credit Information Review, etc. for a number of years.
• Took scores of sessions on various subjects relating to Hindi language, use of Hindi in computers and banking related subjects.
• Also took sessions in the training programmes and workshops conducted for senior officers of the Bank.
• After retirement, got associated with Microsoft Corporation (India) as a Language Consultant.
TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE:
• Have experience of over 35 years in the field of translation. Presently doing freelance jobs for various translation agencies in India and abroad. Areas of specialization include Website Localization, Healthcare, Clinical Reports, Medical Questionnaires, Mobile Phones, Computers, Telecommunications, Banking, Environment, IT Glossaries and Lexicon Projects, etc.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
• 2008 - Winner of the 6th ProZ.com Translation Contest (English-Hindi).
• 2007 – Participated in the 8th World Hindi Conference held in New York, USA.
• 2006 – Became the founder member of the forum Translators Initiative, New Delhi, India
• 2005 - An article written titled “ Bilingualisation in Computers and Unicode” published in the quarterly Hindi magazine “Rajbhasha Ankur” of the Punjab and Sind Bank.
• 2004 - Submitted an appraisal report about Microsoft’s Mangal and other Unicode fonts to Microsoft Corporation (India) for making improvements in their fonts.
